Ford Motor Company begins the new year facing increasing numbers of Lemon Law cases over the same transmission problems with the Ford Fiesta and Ford Focus that they’ve known about for the last four years. If you have taken your 2012 to 2016 Ford Fiesta or your 2012 to 2016 Ford Focus into a Ford authorized repair facility at least four times for the same transmission system problems, we can most likely get Ford to buy yours back! We have been getting Ford to buy these vehicles back based on both California Lemon Law claims and Auto Fraud Claims for selling our clients “automatic” vehicles that actually have manual transmission systems!
According to automobile recall statistics, Ford Motor Company recalled over 3 million vehicles in 2011 alone. Last year, Ford Motor Company issued 5 separate recalls covering 202,000 vehicles to fix fuel leaks, faulty air bag sensors, stalling and other issues. With the massive recalls from Ford Motor Company, the transmission problems with the Ford Fiesta and the Focus have not (yet) made their recall list.
Until accidents, injuries or fires have resulted from this particular transmission problem, don’t expect to see Ford Motor Company recall your Ford Fiesta or Ford Focus. Unless and until the problem becomes a safety issue, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration won’t force Ford Motor Company to issue a recall.
Ford Motor Company’s “fix” for the transmission system problems has been a software update for the transmission, replacement of the clutches and seals, or as a last resort, replacement of the entire transmission system. The software update has worked for some consumers, but not for all, and not as a permanent fix. Over the last two years, we have gotten massive numbers of telephone and internet inquiries about these vehicles and if you have taken yours in to a Ford authorized repair facility at least four times for the same transmission system problems, we can most likely get Ford to buy yours back! If you’re continuing to experience transmission system problems with your Ford Fiesta or Ford Focus, and you live in the state of California, contact us to find out if you’ve got a lemon on your hands.
What to do if you think your 2012-2020 Ford Fiesta or 2012-2020 Ford Focus is a lemon:
2. If a dealership refuses to record your complaints, keep your own journal stating the date you brought the vehicle to a Ford dealership for a repair, the name of the service advisor who refused to document your complaint, and the mileage at the time you brought the vehicle in.
3. If a Ford dealership employee tells you that the transmission problems are “normal” for the vehicle, go to a different Ford dealership to try to get your vehicle repaired.
4. Once you have tried to get your Ford Fiesta or Ford Focus repaired four times, call us at 855-595-3666. We are here to help you!
